Current Experience

Lynne qualified as an Occupational Therapist from Newcastle Polytechnic in 1986.

Lynne has been working as a consultant preparing reports under the Care Expert remit for N-Able Services since 2007.

Lynne has prepared expert reports following assessment of claimants with a wide range of injuries and medical conditions including neurological and orthopaedic injuries, and psychological trauma / bereavement in both adults and children.

Lynne has extensive experience of compiling Care Needs Assessments and Immediate Needs Assessments which have involved writing detailed and evidence based reports.

Lynne has undertaken preparation of Joint Statements further to discussion with other care experts. She has attended Bond Solon training, including updates to Part 35 of the Civil Procedure Rules.

Since 2000 Lynne has worked in the capacity of an Independent Occupational Therapist and Case Manager and is Director of Rehab Jigsaw Limited. She has extensive experience in working with both adults and children who have experienced major trauma resulting in acquired brain injury, complex orthopaedic injuries, spinal cord injury and amputations. Her Case Management experience focuses on rehabilitation case management for people who have sustained personal injuries and the majority of her case load pertains to catastrophic injuries as a result of major trauma. Also undertaken is the completion of vocational rehabilitation including ergonomic work based assessments.

The skills that Lynne has developed in her role as an Occupational Therapist and Case Manager have been invaluable in ensuring she delivers a high standard of Care Expert and Immediate Needs assessment reports.

 

Previous Experience

Prior to her current role, Lynne worked in statutory services after qualifying.

Lynne initially worked for Darlington Health Authority until 1993.  This was initially a general inpatient role followed by five years Senior 1 with responsibility for the assessment and therapeutic intervention for adults with severe learning disabilities in the community to promote their independence and social inclusion.

Lynne then transferred to a local authority role where she remained until 2000. She was initially employed by Durham County Council before moving to Darlington Borough Council.

In the former role she had responsibility for the assessment of need for both adults and children with complex physical / learning disabilities and arrangement of home adaptations, disability equipment or alternative housing to meet needs.

With Darlington Borough Council, Lynne was a Team leader within a unitary authority with responsibility for the management and supervision of care managers (social workers) commissioning care packages for people with physical disabilities, acquired brain injuries and older people with dementia. She had a role providing management and supervision of occupational therapy staff and sensory impairment services.
